Pressure on our freshwater resources is rising through increasing intensification of land use, variability in climate, pollution and introductions of aquatic organisms, all of which are contributing to a reduction in natural biodiversity. Bioscientific Solutions Ltd  can evaluate freshwater environments for a variety of applications including effects assessments, monitoring, research, strategic advice and habitat restoration.  The freshwater team utilises a range of tools developed to measure the condition of freshwater habitats and assess effects on those habitats from human induced activity.  These tools include aquatic habitat characteristics (channel form, hydrology, marginal habitat, sediment quality, riparian margins), water quality (physicochemistry, contaminants, nutrients), aquatic animals (fish, macroinvertebrates), algae (macrophytes, periphyton, algae).
